Akosua Busia is a multi-talented artist, best known on screen as NETTIE in Steven Spielberg’s THE COLOR PURPLE. On Broadway in ECLIPSED with Lupita Nyongo. As author for her best-selling novel THE SEASONS OF BEENTO BLACKBIRD. As screenwriter of Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel BELOVED, starring Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover, directed by Jonathan Demme. As lyricist of Stevie Wonder’s song MOON BLUE. Busia also penned the lyrics for Stevie Wonder’s song “BLESS MY WAY”, the title song for the Documentary “Stevie Wonder in Ghana: In Search of a Blessed Life”, and the series pilot movie “In Search of a Blessed Life” inspired by the book “He That Hath” by best-selling author Dag Heward-Mills. The Founder and CEO of PageTurner/Prince of Peace Productions and SpeakTheWord Audio (distributor of over one million Christian books in 98 countries). Akosua was born in Ghana, West Africa from where she birthed Spirit Africa Films with a focus on projects that highlight the African continent. The youngest daughter of the late Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, former Prime-Minister and Head of State of Ghana, Akosua’s directorial debut was a docufilm about his life “The Prof: A Man Remembered”.
