Every year, fun-seeking individuals of all ages are invited to join AFF on Governors Island for an enchanting day of free activities including storytelling, needle arts, double-dutch, and dance and drum workshops led by world-renowned instructors, all celebrating Africa and the diaspora! The 2021 edition featured dance classes led by Babacar M’baye & Sing Sing Rhythm, Quenia Riberio and Grupo Ribeiro, Nado Jackson and Maguette Camara & Les Merveilles de Guinea; a needle arts workshop with Michelle Bishop & Harlem Needle Arts; storytelling led by Malika Leigh Whitney and Sharon Gordon; and a double-dutch workshop led by Malika Leigh Whitney and the Double Dutch Dreamz.
