Described as a trans woman's journey of love, loss, and redemption through the seasons, Winter Insect, Summer Flower uses a circular narrative to explore the ever-evolving body. Starting in the spring, a woman is born from the earth and follows a moth into the light. She experiences a short-lived romance in the summer, faces her fears in the fall, and washes off her loss in the winter. Spring comes around again, and she returns to earth, surrounded by flowers.

Gbenga Komolafe

Gbenga Komolafe is a Nigerian artist currently based in Los Angeles. As a multidisciplinary artist, Gbenga works across photo, video, textile, and sculpture—often exploring their intersections. Tee Jaehyung Park

Tee Jaehyung Park is a transgender writer, director, and actor who migrated from Seoul when she was 12. Park’s directorial debut, The Pupal Stage, screened at multiple festivals including NewFest and NFTTY. In 2021, Park participated in the Disruptors Fellowship for marginalized television writers. Her second directorial effort Winter Insect, Summer Flower, premiered at Slamdance in 2022. Through her work, Park seeks to accurately portray and honor her community of trans people of color.
