In the near future, humanity, obsessed with saving water while destroying its own planet, faces a devastating environmental crisis. Humans begin to explore space in search of water, and in their absence, the Earth regenerates itself. ‘The Planet of Water,’ by Leonardo Gámez Gil (Mexico), reveals the irony of a species that, by putting its home at risk, discovers the remarkable ability for the planet to heal itself. The short film is one of the two finalists for the Latin American Prize for Short Film about Water and Science 2024, organized by Let's Talk About Water and Mayors Make Movies.
