Kwame Nyong'o
Kwame is a Nairobi-based writer, illustrator and animator whose interest lies in creating stories that show a more positive and genuine view of Africa. He is well known for his children’s books such as A Tasty Maandazi, I Love Ugali and Sukuma Wiki and The Yummiest Githeri. Kwame’s debut animated short The Legend of Ngong Hills has won many awards worldwide. He has also worked on Tinga Tinga Tales, a 52 episode 2D pre-school series produced in Kenya. In 2017 and 2018, Kwame was part of the team that won awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for The World’s Most Eligible Bachelor, a campaign supporting northern white rhino conservation. Kwame considers himself lucky to live in Kenya where the unique sights, sounds and people inspire him daily. Learn More
