Marseille, a city of rich cultural diversity, still carries the deep scars of segregation. Fear of the “other” fuels a relentless cycle of violence, where oppressors justify their actions, and the oppressed inherit a simmering rage. Three childhood friends reunite after years apart, eager to celebrate. But their joy is fleeting—what begins as a simple gathering takes a tragic turn due to racial profiling, reigniting a spiral of hatred. Years pass, yet the wounds remain unhealed. As far-right ideologies gain ground,
confronting both oppressors and the oppressed with the weight of their actions is more urgent than ever.

About the Director

Zaza Mon Amour

Xavier Mwamba, Zaza, a filmmaker from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, grew up in Brussels and has lived in Marseille for five years. At 26, he left law studies to pursue his passion for film, becoming a self-taught artist two years ago. A lifelong cinephile, he was immersed in the arts early on, influenced by his father’s love for tribal art. The artistic vibrancy of Brussels and Marseille has shaped his creative identity. Inspired by legends like Sergio Leone, Coppola, Scorsese, Tarantino, and Nolan, he infuses his work with subtle cinematic nods. Like Ennio Morricone, he values the contemplative and musical aspects of filmmaking, often prioritizing them over dialogue, much like in classic westerns. Learn More
