Madou is a talibé, a child whose education is entrusted to a marabout. He has to earn his living by begging in the streets. In town, Madou meets Ablaye, a young boy who lives with his father in a garbage dump. Together they forget for a while the harsh realities of their daily lives.
Mansour Sora Wade
Mansour Sora Wade was born in Dakar, Senegal in 1952. After majoring in film studies at the University of Paris, he worked with various cultural agencies before beginning a career in 1976 directing television films. Among his films are Fary l’anesse and Aida Souka. His celebrated film Picc Mi won the 1993 Prix Afrique en Creation and Prix de la Paix at FESPACO.
