Adler Kibe Paz is a Brazilian director and producer from Bahia. He is known for the short film Penalti (2000), the story of a soccer player from Várzea who goes through a period of anguish after missing a penalty in the finals. The film won the ABD Award for Best National Video at Cine Guarnicê (São Luíz - Maranhão, Brazil), Best Fiction Video at the National Video Festival of Teresina and the Third Best National Video at FUNARTE Competitive Video Show (João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil). In 1997, Paz made BAbaVIda - The City of Upside Down, on the supporters of Bahia and Vitória, winner of the Diomedes Gramacho award for Best Bahian Production at the XXIV International Film Festival «Message to Man». With Moacy Gramacho, he co-directed Dogs (2012), about a father who carries his injured child on his back in search of help. The script is freely inspired by the work of the Mexican writer and photographer, Juan Rulfo. The film received three awards at the Brasília Festival, of one which was Best Actor for Hilton Cobra, better known as Cobrinha. Learn More
