Ninah is a runaway wife, stuck in an abusive relationship. Her husband finds out that she is pregnant and comes with his friends to recover the bride price that he paid or take home the woman that he owns. Knowing that she is headed to a life of unending abuse and possibly death, Ninah devises ways to escape.

Named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Independent Filmmakers to watch, Victor Viyuoh wrote and directed the short film Mboutoukou (2002) which was filmed entirely in Cameroon, Africa. In one year on the circuit, Mboutoukou played at over 100 festivals including Venice in Italy, New Directors/New Films and Rotterdam and won over 20 awards. Victor's first feature film, Ninah’s Dowry was released in 2012 and won several awards including Best Feature at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2013. Victor is an alumnus of USC’s School of Cinema-Television and IFP/LA’s Directors and Screenwriters labs. Learn More
