A collective-oriented film underscoring the group’s many talents into a cohesive offering: The core value of the film is in the collaborative effort of its members. Where the individual’s skillset(s) translates into collective accomplishment. A recollection of the group’s genesis: Shot in black and white and in color, this film makes a distinction of the time periods of WESHHH. The Collective - in non-linear fashion. Highlighting community centers/third spaces as necessary placeholders in our neighborhoods: WESHHH. The Collective was born out of our frequent gatherings at Make Manifest BK. A shop and community center, with a gallery in the
heart of Bed-Stuy.
Why WESHHH?
To serve one another - an active support system:
Ensuring that with the responsibility of members, each member shall achieve whatthey will. Therefore, granting advancement to the unit and its parts - collectively and
individually.

About the Director

Ahmad Cissé

Ahmad Cissé is a Sénégalese multi-disciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. His disciplines range from Fashion modeling, filmmaking and designing. Ahmad is also a
community organizer and is co-founder of an active artist collective called WESHHH. The Collective and cinema club Jollof Films.
This will be Ahmad’s directorial debut in partnership with WESHHH. The Collective. Learn More
