Miklas Manneke is a screenwriter and SAFTA-winning director, best known for his 2013 short film, Kanye Kanye, which he wrote and directed in his fourth year of Film study. Manneke ignored critics and focused instead on showing the international community a different side of townships. The light-hearted Dr Seuss-inspired work earned him a Student Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Student Short Film and won Best short movie at Portsmouth International Film Festival 2014 (UK) and Uppsala International Film Festival (Sweden), besides many others.
