Babetida Sadjo
Babetida Sadjo is a Guinean artist. Born in Guinea Bissau, she spent part of her teenage years in Vietnam before moving to Belgium.
She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Brussels and was nominated for the Best Female Hope award at the Prix de la Critique.
Her film career began in 2014 with Pieter Van Hees’ Waste Land, for which she was the first black woman to win an Ensor for Best Supporting Actress. She gained international attention with Joost Van Ginkel’s Paradise Suite which was shortlisted for an Oscar.
As a writer and director, she signed in 2017 the one-woman show Les Murs Murmurent and before the documentary Bafata Blues(2007), she signed Hématome, her first short fiction film, which she wrote and directed, and produced with 10.80 films in co-production with MALUKA films. Learn More
