Set during Ramadan, Hayat observes the intricate challenges of her daily life as she encourages her family to embrace Western society while maintaining a strong sense of their own faith and culture.

Rendah Haj is an old Egyptian-Australian filmmaker based in Melbourne. She has extensive experience in curating youth-mindful and community based media projects. Her film work focuses on documentaries that intimately navigate social issues and human rights, with an emphasis on the experiences of ethnic minorities and untold stories of the African diaspora.
