Daniela Ricci
After working for the United Nations for several years in various African countries, Italian scholar and filmmaker Daniela Ricci went on to complete a PhD. in African Cinema at the Jean Moulin University in Lyon and at Howard University in the US. She conducts her research on contemporary films from Africa and its diasporas, between France, Italy and the United States. A researcher in cinematographic studies, she teaches cinema at Paris Nanterre University. She organizes international events and has directed various collective works around the question of identity and representations. Daniela Ricci is the author of a number of articles on this subject, as well as the book Cinémas des diasporas noire: esthétiques de la reconstruction (L'Harmattan, 2016).
