About Bintou follows the life and challenges of a Malian Muslim student as she navigates life in Guangzhou, China. As an independent Muslim woman, she seeks to be understood by sharing her ambitions and thoughts, despite the stereotypes against and attitudes towards Muslims in society today.

Dezhou Li

After receiving a BA in Film Studies with Creative Writing from the University of Surrey in 2015, Dezhou Li decided to be a more practical filmmaker. He attended the MA Filmmaking program at The London Film School. During his study, he received opportunities to participate in different film/video projects, including short films, web series, fashion videos and wedding videos. Dezhou is now focusing on making documentaries around the world, with hopes to spread the power of understanding. Learn More
