Shakirudeen has worked in the non-profit sector for over four years and earned a Bachelor of Science in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. While volunteering as a documentary filmmaker with the Ghana YMCA, in collaboration with Weltfilme.org (Berlin) under the Make A Difference Project, he led a team to produce a short documentary Life on the Road, the story of a Ghanaian patriot who directed traffic voluntarily for twenty years. The film has become a seminal work that represents the only record of a true hero who would have been forgotten had his life’s story not been documented.
