Nantie Steyn studied journalism and politics at Rhodes University and graduated in 1989. She received a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Journalism from Wits University. Nantie has worked in print media, and as a producer, screenwriter and theater critic. She started her film career in 1991 while doing research for documentaries on training and development. She currently lectures at the Film, AFDA - South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance and conducts research on film semiotics, film genre and South African audiences. She has produced TV series including The Lab (2008) and Kaelo Stories of Hope (2012).
