Before focusing on documentary filmmaking, Marie-Claude Fournier worked for over ten years in the television world. Following her completion of a documentary filmmaking program at L’inis in 2010, several of her short documentaries were selected by international festivals. Recipient of the TV5 Fund in 2012, she produced and co-directed the web documentary My Northern States which won the Gémeau Award for best interactive documentary produced for the web in 2013. In 2014, with her collaborator Anne Laguë, she received a scholarship from the CALQ for the development of the short documentary Femme Centaure, presented on the La Fabrique Culturelle website. In the fall of 2014, Marie-Claude left Quebec to work with the Ciné Institute in Jacmel, Haiti, where she mentored the production of corporate projects. Always one foot between here and elsewhere, she pursues the creation of a documentary about the journey of a young athlete from Montreal.
