Ivory Coast

Born in 1986 in Abidjan, Souleymane Bamba aka Lonesome Solo grew up in the suburbs of the Ivorian capital. He describes himself as a child from the “ghetto.” A real movie fan, he took correspondence courses and began making movies with friends. He also worked as an assistant director. He made his first feature film, Burn It Up Djassa, in 2012.
