Jamil McGinnis and Pat Heywood are a filmmaking team based in Brooklyn, New York. Their work has been featured on PBS, NOWNESS, Boom, Blavity, Button Poetry, Poets & Writers, Shots, SHOOT, Designcollector, Poetry Foundation, Moving Poems, TIDAL, Mubi and has screened at the Brooklyn Film Festival, Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis, and Playa Studios in Los Angeles. After graduating Pat Heywood began working as an assistant, then a coordinator at the production company SMUGGLER. During his four years at the company, he worked on projects for a roster of world-class directors, such as Barry Jenkins, Kathryn Bigelow, Tom Hooper, Bennett Miller, Todd Field, Henry-Alex Rubin, Susanne Bier, and Chris Smith, amongst others. Jamil McGinnis is a Turkish and African American filmmaker/photographer originally from Kaiserslautern, Germany. He spent that last two years working as a producer at Droga5, one of the top advertising agencies in the country.
