Fanney Tsimong began working as a dancer at the age of 15 and has since worked as a choreographer and music event manager/promoter for Brenda Fassie and Janet Jackson, among others. He received the Vuka 2003 Raw Talent award and a scholarship to AFDA. He has directed and produced a number of short films. Fanney worked as camera assistant for an SABC 3 documentary, Flush and as camera assistant for Oscar nominated film, Hotel Rwanda. He directed a documentary for SABC 1’s sex and secrecy slot: Black Beulah's, in collaboration with Underdog Productions. He has worked as a creative stylist for South Africa’s most successful, award-winning music team Malaika. Fanney made his debut as an actor in a 4-part mini series for SABC 1 titled After Nine. In 2007 he got an invitation to be part of a panel of judges at the Berlinale Film Festival in Germany. He also worked as assistant director and production assistant for the 2008 Community Builder of the Year award with Underdog Productions. Fanney has directed two episodes of Top Billing – Basetsana’s Book Club and The Tony Rich Project Interview. Fanney co-produced a documentary titled Queen Diva (2010).
