Originally from Saint-Louis in Senegal, Amina Awa Niang is a committed filmmaker and cultural entrepreneur. With a degree in cinema and arts and culture from the UFR CRAC, she has nurtured her creativity and social involvement from an early age. Sensitive to the cultural, social and political issues facing her society, she founded the Écran du Fleuve cinema collective to energize the local film scene and support emerging talent. Through her short fiction and documentary films, Amina Awa Niang works to preserve and question the cultural heritage and memory of her country and people.
