Senegal

Rehanna grew up in Dakar, Senegal, until she graduated from high school at age 17 and left for new horizons. After 10 years of discovering herself and her creativity, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a film director and created her film company STUDIO REVEIL in 2022. She is currently based in Senegal.

Rehanna has written, produced and directed two short genre films. Take It or Bleed It(2022) and The Prophecy (2023). Rehanna blends her unique life experience and fascination for the invisible world into her storytelling. She specializes in horror and fantasy inspired by African folklore. The subtext of her work tells about the experiences and the minds of black women in this new multicultural world. She aims to shed light on traditional African legends by giving them a modern twist and making them universal.
