Vatora Godwin is a writer, director, photographer and editor from the San Francisco Bay Area. She studied Marketing at California State University Long Beach, graduating in 2013. In 2014, Vatora launched Vizzle Productions – a film and video production company that creates sizzle reels and promos to capture the stories of local community organizations and help small business owners amplify their reach through video marketing. In 2018, Vatora visited Thika, Kenya to film and produce her first docu-short about a local organization – The Karibu Center. It detailed the instrumental work the organization had done in helping to close the education gap for young children and create employment opportunities for Kenyan families. Vatora works in San Francisco’s thriving tech industry and created her own role as head of video marketing for Trailhead – Salesforce’s self-learning platform. She also serves as global VP of BOLDforce, Salesforces’ Black Organization for Leadership & Development. Omi, which Vatora wrote, produced, directed and edited, is her film debut.
