The lives of two women intersect in Viviane Ferreira’s beguiling film, set in São Paolo, Brazil. Silvia is a young medium and a market researcher struggling to make ends meet while awaiting the results of a public exam. Jerusa is a gracious 77-year-old lady who bears witness to daily life in Bixiga, a neighborhood that brims with ancestral memories. On Jerusa’s birthday, while she waits for her family’s arrival, an encounter between her deepest memories and Silvia's mediumship allows the two of them to travel through time and their intertwined histories.

Viviane Ferreira
Viviane Ferreira is a director and screenwriter from Brazil. She co-directed the feature film Pessoas: Viver para conta (2019); and wrote and directed and her debut feature film Um Dia Com Jerusa in 2020. She holds a Masters in Audiovisual Policies from UNB and she is also an entertainment lawyer. Viviane is the manager of Odun Filmes, CEO of RAIO (Audiovisual Network for Orchestrated Inclusion) and of TodesPlay streaming platform, and is a professor of cinema and audiovisual courses at ESPM São Paulo. She is president of APAN (Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals) and Artistic Director of the “Encontro de Cinema Negro Zózimo Bulbul - Brasil, África, Caribe e Outras Diasporas."
