Set in a small village at the foot of Mount Fako in Cameroon, Beleh examines the relationship between Ekema and his pregnant wife, Joffi. The difficulty she faces in her first pregnancy is made worse by the petulant and selfish demands of her irate and uncompromising husband. Things come to a head when one morning, things have mysteriously changed in the village and there's a total role reversal between the sexes. Ekema gets to experience a day as a pregnant man, which throws a new light on his view of Joffi's feelings.
Christa Eka Assam
Christa Eka Assam is a Cameroonian director, producer and actress. After studying accounting, marketing and advertising, she turned to cinema and modeling. She started with roles in school plays and later made her acting debut with a role in in the film Break In in 2015. Since then she has starred in several short and feature films. After studying accounting, marketing and advertising, she turned to cinema and modeling. She made her first short film, Doormat, which was selected into the Durban Talent Campus in 2012. Beleh (2013), her second short film, screened in over 20 international film festivals and won two awards including a ZAFAA Award for Best Short Film in London in 2013 and a Special Jury Mention at the 2013 Africa International Film Festival in Calabar, Nigeria. She won the award for Best Short Film for Alma (2015) at the Abuja Film Festival in 2016.
