Nemo Librizzi is a New York City filmmaker whose training came from working alongside such directors as Jim Jarmusch and Julian Schnabel. Librizzi’s feature-length documentary, Lay Down Old Man (2005), explores two of America’s most notorious gangs: the Crips and the Bloods. Nemo has also made several short art films that have been influential among the experimental film scene. In his project for Scion, he has created a street movie with family appeal, Notes on a Paper Plane (2006). In 2017 Librizzi told his life story on Facebook then reclaimed it and transformed it into book, replete with friends’ comments, memes and selfies, to produce a picaresque and decidedly Information-Age autobiography.
